CA Teaching Credentials

All candidates applying to Oakland City Teacher Corps must currently hold or will hold a California Teaching Credential or a teaching license from another state that shares reciprocity with the State of California by July 2009.  The California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CCTC) is the sole provider of credentials and reciprocity permission to meet Oakland City Teacher Corps eligibility requirements.

Candidates who have not yet started the credentialing process should apply to the Oakland Teaching Fellows program.

Please note that Oakland Unified School District will apply for California Teaching Credentials for teachers with out-of-state credentials who are invited to join Oakland City Teacher Corps during employee processing.  Out-of-state candidates should not apply directly to the State of California to obtain a California teaching credential.  For more information about transferring a teaching license from another state with reciprocity, click here.
