Oakland City Teacher Corps is a unique opportunity to make a difference in Oakland schools.  Corps Teachers bring their talents and skills to the classrooms where they can have the greatest impact.

Setting itself apart from most districts in the Bay Area and across the country, the Oakland Unified School District developed Oakland City Teacher Corps to attract and cultivate top certified teachers and bring them together and into Oakland's high-need schools through this selective program.  OUSD has committed to prioritizing the hiring and placement of Corps Teachers in under-performing schools throughout Oakland.  Through OCTC, OUSD can help ensure that the most challenged schools begin the year fully staffed with highly--qualified instructional leaders- and that these teachers form a powerful network of committed new educators across the District.
